Testing VooPlayer

Let’s test out a new video player! This is called VooPlayer.

vooplayer-1It’s actually not new. It’s version 3.0 but is being released at a special Launch deal for a One-Time Fee.

Video Player software that you don’t have to pay monthly fees for is generally more of an investment up-front than monthly services but are usually more cost effective in the long run.

Over the years, I’ve invested in and still use several players including SimpleVideoPro, Easy Video Suite, PressPlay to name a few and each of those has generally cost me around $200 a pop. I won’t say VooPlayer is a “rip-&-replace must have” tool IF you already have a player you use and like…

Here are my tests of some configurations and features:

Test #1: Default Configuration YouTube Video on WordPress (Full Screen enabled):

OK…that was super easy…

Test #2: Same Video in a “Lightbox” on WordPress:

Tools For Collecting Video Content IdeasTools For Collecting Video Content Ideas

Hmmm…I’m not seeing a “CLOSE” lightbox button?

Test #3: Default Configuration on Amazon S3:

REALLY easy Amazon S3 video embedding. Also connects to your S3 account by just adding your Amazon Key and Secret Key so you can upload directly to S3.

Test #4: YouTube video, Finish Action (Go to URL), Image On Pause:

The Image On Pause feature let’s you provide a specific image when the video is paused. Something like a Call To Action? It can also be clickable. In this test I uploaded a regular 1280×720 thumbnail image and it seems to be way too big. I’ll figure out what the dimensions should be (probably to same as the video dimensions?). UPDATE: Yep. The secret sauce for all video thumbnails is to resize them to the dimensions you set the embed video size to.

At the end (Finishing Action feature), the video should jump to the blog post with the download. Good for affiliate links too!

But… FYI… my Pop-up blocker stopped the redirect from happening.

Test #5: Timed Overlay Call-To-Action:

COMING

I did test this on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lonnaylor/posts/10154123115328082

Call to action button should appear at 2:00 mark.

Test #6: Opt-In Form in Video (Aweber):

COMING

Aweber and GetResponse integration works via API. Nice.

Test #6: Social Sharing Buttons:

TO DO: I want to get through this feature list (IN PROGRESS):

[+] A/B Video Split-Testing that works INSIDE Facebook
[+] Remarketing Intelligence™ designed for videos
[+] Streaming Display™ with Smart-Date Scheduling
[+] Hybrid Video Cloud-Hosting™ with Dropbox
[+] Timed Opt-In Boxes, Buttons, forms.
[+] Review of User Interface
[+] Advanced Video Analytics with heatmaps

Hey Lon,

Appreciate the email and info on VooPlayer.

I have EVS version 2 and it’s always done what I needed.
I do like some of the more advanced features though.

My worry is what comes after the $37 payment. I’m sure
there’s some type of OTO. Do you know what it is and did
you go for it? Price?

Thanks!

Greg

Sorry, I think I missed this comment earlier Greg. I did get the OTO1 but none of the others. More features, better license, etc.

Interesting to see the behavior of the first two vids with Click to Flash on mac.
Worked well on iPad for me though. Thanks for the demo.

Thanks Tim. I’m interested in others experiences and feedback. Tough to test EVERYTHING.
