Creating a Typewriter Effect in PowerPoint 2010

You may have seen the typewriter effect used in sales and marketing videos across the Internet and wondered how it was done.

Creating the effect in PowerPoint 2010 is actually quite easy.  You just need to spend a little time fiddling with the speed and making sure your narration synchronizes with your typing.

Once you have that mastered, it will be an effect you will want to use over and over. Here’s a short video showing you how to do it.

BTW- our PowerPoint for Video course is full of these types of tricks. Please check it out while the price is still only $47.

Hi Michelle,

Not seeing your video. Audio is fine. Just me or are others having the same problem?

Good one Michelle! 😉

Just to note: This also work the same way in PowerPoint 2007 as far as the effect goes…

PowerPoint 2010 is only required to do the recording video part (which can be don’t with Camtasia for PPT 2007 users).

Michelle thanks so much. This is so simple. The other answers that I got were to install some toolbars, and where I work they frown on that.

Well, I used it some years ago in a presentation, but in the meantime I had completely forgotten how I did it!
So this was a useful reminder – very well explained too! Thanks for sharing!
