Organize Your Video Projects with this Trick

As you start creating video projects of any kind (Camtasia, PowerPoint, camera, webinars, etc.), one of the first “holy cow!” moments will come when you look at your hard drive and realize that: Wow! There are a LOT of files involved in this whole deal!

Keeping things organized is a fundamental practice in not only being productive as a video creator but also a good exercise in Insanity Prevention.

In this tutorial, Lon shows a nifty “trick” for replicating a Directory Structure to help you stay consistent in how you stay organized:

Also, if you like, you can download a ZIP file of Lon’s structure HERE:
==> Master Directory Structure ZIP file

  1. Download the file to the top level (root) of the hard drive you store your projects on.
  2. Extract the contents
  3. Modify his structure to suit your preferences
  4. Follow the “trick” to use it to start your new projects!

Hope that helps!

Great tip, Lon. I’m pretty organized, but this technique takes things to a new level. The consistency of the folders in every project will no doubt be a time and brain saver as I get to cranking out more projects. Thanks much!
