Cool Resource – Motion Objects 2.0

The new Camtasia 9 is awesome but…one BIG thing for many of us users is:

NO more support for MOV videos with Alpha Transparency! OUCH!

That means cool assets like MOV video overlays, animated icons, etc. that we get from VideoHive, MotionGraphicStock, or Viddyoze will NOT work anymore. (FYI, they still work in Camtasia 8 so don’t uninstall that!)

The good news is: Animated GIF’s with transparency now DO work on the timeline and will “play” just like a little video clip.

Granted, they won’t be as high quality as a MOV file but they can still do the trick especially if you pick a background color to put under them that makes them look smoother (so experiment with that tactic for best results).

And don’t forget: The MOV versions of these still work in Camtasia 8 PLUS you get static PNG images as well.
