Old Time Movie Effect in Camtasia
I gotta say…Techsmith has been kicking up the content on their blog as of late! Here’s a nifty example of how you can add an “old time” movie effect at Production time in Camtasia:
==> Techsmith Blog: Old Time Movie Effect
I actually knew about this technique before but totally spaced it out until I saw the blog post reminder! So, I started playing with it again. Here’s a quick-n-dirty sample I did in just a few minutes to test:
For this clip, I used this piece of Archive.Org audio:
==> Ain’t We Got Fun
There are a few things you have to work-around in the QuickTime settings. Be sure to only add ONE change at a time, then go back in and make another…
I plan on using this trick (sparingly of course!) to create re-usable Camtasia Library assets like:
- Attention-grabbing Intro / Outro clips
- YouTube “End card” content
- “Pattern Interrupts” I can use in video content to snap the viewers attention back to my message…
- Probably a lot of other ideas!
I’ll also caution you if you decide to download the Countdown_Leader file they point to. It’s on an Adware jacking download site so…just be sure not to click any of the stupid extra “Download Now” buttons.
Enjoy!
