Camtasia 8.4 Player Speed Control Demo

One of the new features in Camtasia Studio 8.4 is the ability to “speed up” the playback of a video in the Camtasia Player.

Don’t get confused here…this feature is in the PLAYER – and NOT something you do during editing. It simply gives the viewer the option of increasing the speed of the playback.

Why would you want to do such a thing?

Well, if you think about it…

How much “time” does it take you to watch say an hour long webinar replay?

That’s not a trick question. Ummm…an hour, right? That’s a time investment assuming you don’t skip ahead (in which case you might miss something good!)

Being able to “watch” a video at twice the speed literally cuts the time it takes to consume the content in half thus giving you back some of your life! 😉

There are third-party programs that have let you do this for certain kinds of video players (like Enounce) and even the YouTube Player provides it but now the videos you create that use the Camtasia Player can do it too.
