Our Favorite Fonts for Video

When I look back at my early work, I’m surprised I’ve lasted this long. A lot of the video courses and marketing videos I built years ago just weren’t very good. But that’s okay. I’ve learned a lot about design over the last 5 years and I’m still constantly learning. Last week I learned more about the best fonts for video and a cool way for how to find their most complimentary matches.

In today’s post I have an except from the last Screencast Video Coaching session where I shared a video from BrainyVideo.com. Steve Washer talks about his favorite fonts for video and Lon and I discussed ours. I hope watching will give you ideas for getting away from the traditional Windows fonts and help you mix and match some new ones with some of their compliments.

Most of the fonts mentioned can be freely downloaded from just a quick search on the web. And to find the perfect font combo for your next video project head over to Type Genius.

Great tutorial on fonts for video! I’ve learned a lot myself from Steve Washer and his advice definitely shapes the way I choose fonts (as well as what I’ve learned from Tony Laidig).

Can’t wait to try out that font picking tool – thanks for that!
