Bi-Weekly Video Update – 11/19/18

Hey there, it’s Michelle and I hope you and your family get a bunch of time together over the Thanksgiving holidays. In today’s newsletter I’ll be showing you how I used the Storyline player with my Camtasia videos, how to fix audio glitches in Camtasia 2018 and a YouTube Channel Makeover Challenge starting in December.

On the Blog: Combining Storyline with Camtasia and PowerPoint

A while back I created a training course in which I used Camtasia, PowerPoint and Storyline to get the features which my client required.

The main takeaways you will get from this video are:

  • How to add a more robust TOC and navigation
  • How I structured a multi Lesson training course
  • How to add additional interactivity using some features of Storyline

Fixing Camtasia 2018 Audio Glitches

I found a fix to something that was driving me nuts the other day so I wanted to share it with you. I was working on a bunch of videos in Camtasia 2018 and in all of them the audio would skip at some point at the beginning of the video. But sometimes I could play it and it wouldn’t skip and I couldn’t figure out why. UGH!

As it turns out, this is a known error in Camtasia 2018 and it happens when you import MP3 files instead of wav files. The audios I had were MP3s delivered to me by a voice over artist.

So the solution is to not use MP3s in Camtasia 2018 or, if that is the only file type you have, you need to bring them into Audacity and Export them as wav files before importing them back into Camtasia.

Hopefully, you will remember this fix the next time you have audio skipping or glitches that won’t go away or bookmark this link.

Bi-Weekly Video Update – 11/30/18

Hey, it’s Lon Naylor with a couple of really nice tips and resources for you!

On the Blog: How to Create 3D Rotating Text Effect in Camtasia

Here’s a fun trick I picked up a few years ago from my buddy Peter Gillberg at Callouts.com

The tutorial I did for it way back then (in Camtasia 8) is actually one of my more popular videos on YouTube with 45,000+ views so I thought I would update it for Camtasia 9 & higher:

How To Create a Rotating “3D” Text Effect

It’s a useful technique for Title clips, text logos, or anything you want to add a 3D touch to. In fact, I think it would work for PNG images like logos also but I still have to test that.
