Bi-Weekly Video Update – 06/13/17

It’s Michelle this week with a blog post inspired by before and after videos sent to me by a recent coaching student. It shows how just a few simple changes can make a big difference in the clarity of your videos. I also want to talk a bit to those of you who are not quite sure how to approach developing a relationship with your email subscribers (if you are lucky enough to have them).

From the Learn Camtasia Blog
Before and After: Three Tips to Improve the Clarity of your Camtasia software tutorials
It is safe to assume that when you create a tutorial video to educate your audience members (even in software demos that aim to convert viewers into customers) your audience is not going to want to learn from you if the demos appear to be unplanned or unreadable.

So here’s the thing… if you want your audience to continue watching your videos, you need to make them easy to follow.

Jeff Schreier is an accountant who hired me (Michelle) for Private Camtasia Coaching with a couple of very specific requests: Make sure that he was on the right track with the screen recordings he had created and help him generate ideas for marketing his training course.

Building Relationships: A More Authentic Way to Get to Know your Email Subscribers

There’s got to be at least 50 ways to get people to come to your website and at the beginning of my internet career I really hustled.

I was getting a decent amount of traffic viewing my videos, blog posts and social media. I was even getting a fairly good amount of people signing up for my freebies – which also added them to my mailing list.

It was so exciting because everyone told me how important it was to build a mailing list. With a mailing list you can build relationships with your subscribers and then offer them training courses that will help them reach their goals.

But there was one problem.

I was never actually emailing any of my subscribers. It felt uncomfortable. I just didn’t know how often to email or really what to say. I knew I needed to build relationships but it all seemed so fake and I hated the idea of “selling”.

I met my friend Angela Wills, of Laptop Business Lifestyle, after I wrote to her complimenting her on how natural and honest her emails were and I asked for help.

Now, still successful and 8 years later, she has FINALLY put out a course. It’s called:

“Writing Emails Naturally”

The coupon code “writingemails” takes $10 off -bringing the price down to $17.

Here what she covers:

  • Let’s get this out of the way: Email Frequency
  • Planning out your emails for the entire month, day by day
  • What ELSE she does with her emails
  • Writing like you talk… and that’s her business folks!
  • Choosing a subject for your email
  • Why she doesn’t really care if people unsubscribe (and in fact, often encourages it)

If you’re ever reluctant to email your subscribers because it just doesn’t FEEL natural to you, this course will be worth every penny!

That’s it for this week – see you in two weeks!
