Weekly Video Update – 01/03/14

Happy New Year! It’s Michelle this week with a fun new technique for you to try, a post from our blog and a resource you may find helpful in your screencasting.

From our Learn Camtasia Blog:

According to Wikipedia, Kinetic typography – the technical name for “moving text” – is an animation technique mixing motion and text to express ideas using video animation. I started doing some additional research on this technique after one of our coaching students posted a link to a cool video about creating kinetic typography in PowerPoint. I’ve always been very interested in adding this to my skillset so after watching the video, I searched out a few more. I think you’ll be very excited about some of the super cool things you can do with text to add fun and creativity to your videos.

Weekly Video Update – 01/10/14

Ending the week on these notes for your weekend viewing and reading pleasure…

From the Blog:

We talked last week about “kinetic typography” which is just a fancy-schmancy term for text synchronized with narration.

Yes, you can do this in PowerPoint but Lon has a new favorite tool for making these quickly and easily. Check out his “experiment” on the blog: Typography Video Using PowToon

If you would like to learn more about how Lon did this, be sure to leave a comment! If enough folks are interested, he will put together some tutorials and webinars.

Weekly Video Update – 01/17/14

Happy yucky and cold January! It’s Michelle this week trying to stay warm in Atlanta, GA. As I cuddle up to my space heater and Chihuahua (he’s doesn’t help much), I thought I’d send some warm video screencast goodies your way…

From our Learn Camtasia Blog:

I get this question a lot in the coaching classes “Now that I’ve learned Screencasting with Camtasia and PowerPoint, how can I make money with these skills?”

I know that many people feel that their goal is to break free from the service business and only use their skills to create videos for themselves and their own business.

But in my own experience, there is nothing better than multiple sources of income so I have continued to do work for clients while building the Learn Camtasia site.

I’ve found it to be, not only a great source of additional income. but helps to give me lots of things to write about and share with the students on our site. Even Lon is now taking on clients and creating some fun and interesting new videos.

A Great Resource for You:

I loved this article over at SlideShare about the importance of your presentation cover screen . Of course, the visual showing in the first few seconds is equally important for your videos. So for anyone who wants to get more views, likes and attention from viewers go check out…

Weekly Video Update – 01/24/14

Hey, it’s Lon Naylor with some BIG news for the Weekly video Update.

Special Guest Expert Webinar:

Google LOVES Video! Duh… what can we expect from Google in 2014?

It’s safe to say there will be more hardware… more retail… and an explosion of Google+!

The signs are there. YouTube integration is just one example of why we care as video creators. Google will continue to PUSH their social service HARD.

So it’s not a question of “if”… but a question of “when” the masses will fully migrate over to what is the “Glue of all things Google” – Google Plus.

This is so big, I’ve tapped my good friend Jason Fladlien to lay out a Google+ game plan for us on a special event:

*** Wednesday, January 29th at 7PM Eastern ***
== REGISTER => Google+ Roadmap With Jason Fladlien

This is important for 2014. Register even if you can’t attend live to get the replay.
