It’s Lon Naylor this week and I have a couple of cool things to share with you…

From the Blog:

How To Modify PowerPoint Video Templates
OK, I have to admit… I’m having a blast with these!

Check out ==> Magic Video 3.0 PowerPoint Templates

There are some guys in Indonesia doing some fantastic things with PowerPoint creating templates we can modify for video content.

The cool thing is that they are so well designed and built to easily modify.

I’ll show you how with tips and tricks for using PowerPoint Video Templates on the blog:

And check out my other sample videos there! Each one took me less than 15 minutes to do. Sweet!

Bi-Weekly Video Update – 02/26/17

It’s Michelle this week. Hope you are doing great. If you have been on our weekly Screencast Video Coaching aessions, you’ve seen my OneNote collection and know I love to research and collect great articles to help you improve your screencasts. In this newsletter I’ll be sharing a bit of my collection. I’m sure you’ll find a few gems in here you will love too.

5 Posts to Improve Your Screencasting Skills

I just finished watching a video course about Content Curation. If you don’t know exactly what that is, I’ll tell you…

"Content curation is the process of gathering information relevant to a particular topic or area of interest. Services or people that implement content curation are called curators." Since I try to take action right away on any new training I take (and you should too), I have assembled a nice curation for you that should provide hours of screencast learning pleasure.

#1 What Freelancers Charge for Custom Video Projects

Don’t bother filling out all the fields. I clicked on "Explainer" video and chose "animated". I got a chart showing what other Freelancers are charging based on how fancy the client wants to make the video. Nice!

#2 17 Presentation Design Trends To Look Out For In 2017

The design trends that became popular in 2016, like flat design, will continue to pick up the pace in 2017. At the same time, new trends will emerge that will try to bring presentation design at par with web design.

#3 How to Start a Presentation

The first minute after you start narrating is crucial. Your audience wants you to succeed, but they also judge you pretty quickly. So don’t be boring in that first minute! This post is geared towards PowerPoint Presentations but it is just as relevant for videos.

#4 What is the Best Microphone?

Matt Pierce (TechSmith Training Manager) and Kyle Wilson (TechSmith Video Production Specialist) headed to their sound booth and tested 6 different microphones. If you’re in the market for a mic, you can listen to how they sound first.

#5 Best Free Photo and Image Editing Program

Check out Bill Myer’s short video and you’ll see why we both think PhotoPad is one of the best, if not the best, free photo editing programs available. Why spend hundreds on Photoshop when this one is free?

Did You Get Inspired?

Did the project rates for a simple "Explainer" video shown in #1 above inspire you?

Yup, that’s what people are getting for video work.

Setting your own rates is one reason why having a career as a screencaster is awesome.

With freelancing in mind, this week we’re showcasing our course "A Career in Screencasting" and we’re putting it on sale starting Wednesday.

And later this week, I’ll be blogging on my best tips for freelancers to create their Screencast Portfolio… so look for that article and the sale to start in a few days.

That’s it for this week – see you in two weeks!
