Weekly Video Update – 12/05/14
It’s Michelle this week. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving (if you are in the USA). My husband, myself and the kids were treated to a cruise from my Dad (thanks Dad!) and got to spend some real quality time with the extended family.
This week I have a blog post for people who want to record their webinars, a conference recording on creating interactive video training and an invitation to a guest webinar on Monday night.

What I’m Watching Now…
“Interactive Video for Training: Secrets of Success”
Below is a link to an interesting and informative conference session I just watched compliments of the ELearning Guild.
Watch it to learn some practical tips and tricks to produce interactive training and eLearning videos. The tools they mention are some of the more corporatey choices such as Articulate and Captivate but you can do pretty much the same things in Camtasia. If you see something in the video you’d like to copy and want us to demo how the same technique can be achieved with the Camtasia Studio software just let us know. We’re up for the challenge!
Are You Posting Videos to YouTube, Facebook or WordPress?

Just take a look at our Newsletter Archives and you’ll see lots of video content posted on our blog.
If you’re a business owner (offline or online doesn’t matter) are you too posting videos to YouTube, embedding in a WordPress blog on your own domain and posting in Facebook every week?

This week I have a blog post with some simple ideas for getting your feet wet with Camtasia and PowerPoint, a new resource for free stock photos and some great ideas to improve the narration on your videos.

Sometimes, in my and Lon’s quest to share cool content and the latest techniques, we forget that probably 75% of our blog visitors are brand new to screencasting and may have not even created their first video.
So in last week’s Screencast Video Coaching Webinar we had a very simple question from one of our members: “Got any tips for just getting your feet wet with Camtasia and PowerPoint?” and we were happy to throw out some simple advice.

In this weekend’s edition of the Bmyers.com newsletter I found a new source for stock photos which I think you’ll find very handy to use in your videos.

The terms of use for this resource are clear and to the point. They say “The photos you download come with a royalty-free license allowing you to use them in all types of projects (commercial or non-commercial), for worldwide distribution, forever. There are never any licensing fees.”
That sounds good to me!

Did you know that TechSmith (the makers of Camtasia and Snagit) have their own YouTube channel with lots of tips for making better screencasts?
Although it is not new, I just discovered this video the other day. You’ll get some great ideas to make your narration more clear and expressive.
