Weekly Video Update – 12/06/13

Hi there – it’s Michelle this week with some more video thoughts and ramblings.

From our Learn Camtasia Blog:

I was teaching Camtasia Studio here in Atlanta a few weeks back and the students wanted more info on using the captions feature. Because I had never used it, I didn’t know the many other benefits of having Captions in your videos. Read More…

“Why It’s a Good Idea to Start Using Captions”

What I’m Working on Now:

  • Took a break from my greenscreen challenge for Thanksgiving week. I need to get back to that ASAP!
  • Currently taking Melissa Ingold’s “Train Your VA” course to get more ideas for outsourcing. Melissa has some great systems. I’m on Lesson 3 where she gets into “How to Create Kindle Books from Audios, Videos and Webinar Events”. (This is my affiliate link, but I only recommend stuff I’ve bought and am getting great ideas from so I’ll never steer you wrong.)
  • I’ve got a few service projects going on I thought I’d share with you:

Client #1 is having me create training videos for MBAs. I’m using graphics from http://www.dreamstime.com and a combination of full motion video of the instructor along with PowerPoint. I’ll be sharing my process in this week’s Screencast Coaching Session.

Client #2 wants to create an internal training site on a Wiki. We are working out a monthly retainer for me to take online documentation and turn it into quick screencasts.

Client #3 is having me edit webinars, add some zooms, callouts and a Table of Contents and using it as training for their buyers.

What’s Coming Up:

  • Lon and I are currently delivering a course called “A Career in Screencasting” to our monthly members. As soon as we have completed Week 4 (early January), we will launch it to our subscribers. Look for that announcement shortly after the New Year.
  • Also, in mid-January I’ll be leading a 30 day challenge which will be free to anyone who purchases their copy of Camtasia Studio through my reseller site from December through January 15th. Same price as TechSmith but lots of extra goodies thrown in.

On a Final Note

Lon video taped our bob sled competition last week and I believe that anyone who is sane can see that I clearly won. He says I cheated. What do you think?

Hi there – it’s Lon Naylor this week with some more video thoughts and ramblings.

From our Learn Camtasia Blog:

I recently had our good friend Bob “The Teacher” Jenkins on the Weekly Screencast Coaching webinar as a guest expert and I “drained his brain” on the topic of using “mind maps” as a video planning tool. Read More…

“Mind Maps Rock For Video Planning”

Just For Fun:

QUICK TIP – I like using JibJab to occasionally whip out fun little videos that serve no real purpose other than to amuse my friends.

Maybe you caught Michelle and me in a heated sled race last week?

==> We Are NOT Competitive

Here’s another with myself and friends Bob Jenkins and Therese Sparsby doing… ya… The Macareindeer Dance in the frigid Minneapolis area.

Hi there- it’s Michelle this week wishing you a happy holiday and lot’s of free time to practice your screencasting!

From our Learn Camtasia Blog:

It’s been a really long time since I’ve done an interview and I forgot how much fun it is. Last night I interviewed one of our coaching members about how he set up his home studio and some of the techniques he used in the two videos he recently submitted for critique.

Listen to this 20 minute chat and check out his videos.
