Logitech G330 Headset Mic Review

If you are following the outstanding free training from Andy Jenkins (The Video Boss) for the Video Genesis Launch with Lon, you may have heard Andy recommend a specific headset mic that he feels is suitable for pretty much ALL his screencasting audio needs. Well, Lon just got his based on that recommendation and did a little video for ya about it:

Here’s a link so you can check it out: Logitech G330 Headset Mic

So far, this is performing beautifully! Comfortable, noise-cancelling, great sound especially if you position it properly (TIP: try placing the mic arm in line with your jaw instead of right in front of your mouth!)

The only thing that detracts a bit is that due to the “behind-the-ear” style, the mic arm can only be on the left side of the head. Not too big a deal unless where you need to plug it in is on the right side of your desk (like Lon)…

This mic (and the sweet placement tip) is just one of the hundreds of great tips and tactics from the Video Genesis Training Program. It has Lon’s highest recommendation AND if you buy through his link you get some really amazing bonuses: Here are the details:

Oh…if you missed the second Video Genesis Launch video with the “Morgan Freeman” thing, you can watch it here: ==> Morgan Freeman Voice-over??  Hilarious…and valuable free video marketing training!

Lon, thanks for the feedback, specifically about the behind the ear design. You mentioned you are plugging everything else into a mixer. Would you share what you are using? Would be an interesting review here on the blog as well

Hi Miles,

Thanks! I have a couple of external audio interfaces. One I’ve used for years (and is no longer available) is a M-Audio 410 FireWire.

And the one I referred to is a Berhringer XENYX 302 USB

I’ll put it on the review list…

Thanks again.
Lon
