Creating a Custom Video Template in PowerPoint

Because Lon and I use PowerPoint a lot when we create our Camtasia videos, we used to spend a lot of time staring at a blank white slide template wondering how to make it unique or how to create a color scheme that would work.

Often we wanted the video colors to blend with a website or a logo.  Or maybe there was a color combination we had seen on the Internet that worked with the feeling or mood of the storyboard.

A few months back we discovered a free plug-in for Firefox and Chrome called Colorzilla and now we can easily copy the color scheme from anything on the Internet and use it in our PowerPoint videos.

The ten minute video below is an excerpt from our Camtasia Studio live, weekly, coaching webinars where I answer one of our student’s questions about creating her own custom color scheme.

BTW- Our “PowerPoint for Video” course is filled with these kind of tips. Check it out.

    Hi Pamela,
I suppose some of the concepts and design ideas might work in OpenOffice but we don’t use Impress. I’m afraid I can’t instruct you on how to specifically duplicate this in that software…
